TrótTin_AI (Trustin_AI) is an interactive installation that examines how trust is constructed in both artificial intelligence and spiritual practices. Drawing on Vietnamese traditions of communicating with ancestors through fortune tellers, the work compares the opacity of algorithmic systems to forms of belief that are accepted without full understanding.

Using motion tracking, projection mapping, and AI-generated imagery deliberately generated from religious and worship texts, the installation responds to visitors’ gestures with evolving abstract forms. Participants become active agents in a ritual-like encounter that questions how authority, uncertainty, and bias shape both human and machine decision-making.

Two years after completing the installation, I wrote a reflective essay revisiting its conceptual and technical development. The text examines the ethics of generative AI, the role of cultural references, and the challenges of translating abstract theoretical concerns into participatory experiences. It also considers how rapidly evolving AI technologies are reshaping human agency and our position within an increasingly algorithmic world.
